"The funkier the better! If it inspires me, then I go for it!"
Barbette Garwood is a local artist living in the Great PNW . Her free spirit and whimsical style is highly influenced by her upbringing having moved around most of her life. Barbette has had to learn very quickly to adapt to many different cultural lifestyles around the US as she transferred from one school to the next, from one state to the next. But out of all the places she lived, Kauai will forever have a special place in her heart. In fact, most of her work reflects that of her LOVE for island living spending a lot of her time hanging around the skater/surfer crowd. In fact, back in 2004, Barbette earned 4th place as a semi finalist in Roxy's International Design a T-shirt for the Fiji Pro contest. And at one point SG Magazine published one of her illustrations as fan art.
As time went on, she found herself beginning to do commissions for design and illustration work for local businesses and special events.
Today, Barbette has been devoting more of her time in building her other creative skill sets such as photography, fashion, and visual merchandising!
To keep up to to date on what's new, be sure to check out all of her links on this site and thank you for following Barbette's artistic journey!
